The exam yesterday was a complete horror. When Elaine announced that our reading time had started and I flipped the paper over, I looked at the first question and my first thought was, “shit.” and when I looked at the next 2 questions, this feeling of dread washed over me. When I got to the middle of the paper and saw all the questions about complementary and alternative medicine, I was rather alarmed because I barely studied it. I’m just glad that a good chunk was pretty much common sense. After the paper, Lauren, who was sitting next to me, turned to me and started ranting about how pissed she was at the kind of questions they asked in the paper.
I think that’s the thing about our exams. A lot of people think that we are so lucky just to have one BIG paper, but I’m starting to realise that that isn’t exactly a very good thing. The problem with having one BIG paper is that they can throw anything at you from any theme and expect you to know it. It is much less easier to try to pick out the important bits as compared to having an exam focussing on anatomy and another focussing on physiology and another on pharmacology. Speaking of which, I studied the cranium and face and parotid gland like crazy and only about 2 questions came out, and my feelings have been cheated. -.-
After the exam, a few of us decided that we had to get out of uni, so kw, shu, xf, wd, zx, armaan chai and I went to chaddy for lunch and some post-exam retail therapy. Ok the retail therapy was more applicable for shu, kw and I and we went to this store galled gasp and now I assume they call it that because that is what people do when they see the price tag. -.- I went to repair my glasses because the bolts fell out and shu and kw told me that they were going there. so when I found the store, i started looking through the racks at some dresses and I saw this really pretty one and I liked it a lot until I saw the price tag. It cost $450! And the jeans were going for $80 and the sales lady was telling me that I should get a pair. Firstly, they’re skinny jeans and I really can’t pull it off. That fact was confirmed when I tried it on and the mirror nearly cracked. Secondly, there’s no way in hell I’m paying $80 for jeans when the jeans I had on cost $25. HAHA. After that we went to Valley Girl, which is this FANTASTIC place for clothes. Some of the tops there were going for $10 and I was so happy :)
After that we rushed back to school for 2 lectures. (how cruel) and I went to Deakin after school and visited Rachel and we were talking for a while. I can’t wait for Sunday! :) We’re going to church in the city! and then I think we’re going shopping and we’re going to have lunch at somewhere like Melbourne Central. woohoo so exciting. I went to the gym after that and it felt so good to exercise again. I was starting to feel like a fat slob after not exercising much during this exam period. And I have gym buddies now! -grin- and when I came home, xf came in with this apple pie for meĀ from maccas. and my gymming went down the drain.
Today was an exhausting day though. We had an 8am lecture, which was complete cruelty. And then I had my clinical skills tute where we were learning how to use the dipstick for urine testing. It was quite interesting! Disgusting though. The container was quite small and the dipstick was quite long, so it was a bit unnerving when I was pulling it out because I thougt that some might flick out onto my face or something.
So here I am in my room after a 2 hour nap. Shu and xf are sleeping now. I’m supposed to be doing my SPC project, but ah heck. I like staying out with friends :) it’s enjoyable and I’m very thankful that we’re getting along well at home. Shu says our living conditions are like so: xf and I see each other in the morning when we both get up earlier, shu and xf see each other in the afternoon when I’m not home yet and shu and I see each other at night cuz xf goes to bed really early. :) yay. but I like my house and my housemates :)
OH yes and while we were studying for the exam, kw, eugene and i went to the library to study and we colonised the far corner of the library and took up a whole row of tables and chairs and eugene got kw and i addicted to peanut m&ms. :( and now every thursday, it’s peri peri day. after clinical skills tutes (the 3 of us are in the same tutorial) we will go eat peri peri chicken. which is so unhealthy because everything is deep fried. :(
bah. nvm i’ll exercise it off! dance tonight! woohooo. but for now, back to projects, projects and more projects.
