I had a rather alarming experience today, or rather, yesterday since it is now 2am here. Actually, alarming wouldn’t be an appropriate word to describe it. A better word would be nerve-wracking.
I went out for dinner with Perryn, Eugene, Jemima, Andrew, Mag, Wen and Jia Xin. We went to have korean bbq in Clayton town! I went for body pump today and killed my biceps, triceps, quads, hamstrings, glutes.. and all the anatomical terms come and haunt me over and over again.
But I digress.
I left home after gymming and Eugene told me that we had to dress up. I thought that he was kidding. Jemma mentioned it yesterday and I thought that she was kidding. So I wore this red dress that mom made for me and the pair of heels that I’ve had since prom and walked to Eugene and Perryn’s place. I cut across Arnott St. The thing about Aussie is that the streets are not very well lit. It was rather dark, but the lights in the houses along the street were on, so I started walking across Arnott. Then when I passed this house that had an opening next to it, I turned to my left and saw a man standing at the fence. I nearly jumped because I was so shocked. There was this girl who was walking behind me and she turned into this opening to walk down some pathway or alley. I was wondering what the hell someone would be doing standing in the dark in the alley, and I figured that it was probably dodgy business. I was pretty scared and started walking faster. He was wearing a green jacket and a cap. Before I got to Princes Highway, I turned around and I realised that the guy, whom I shall call Dodgy Man, started walking as well, in the same direction that I was heading in. At this point in time I felt slightly panicked, but I waited along Princes Highway for all the cars to cross and Dodgy Man stood to my right and I kept him in my sight. When all the cars had crossed, I crossed the road and ran to the bus stop.
Dodgy Man proceeded to turn right (which was the direction that I was intending to go to to get to Eugene’s place, where I was supposed to meet everyone. I waited at the bus stop for about 5 minutes and decided that it was safe to start walking. So I turned right and headed towards Browns and I was feeling slightly apprehensive, yet happy at the same time because I was hungry and couldn’t wait for a good dinner at korean bbq. So while I was walking along, I saw Dodgy Man! and he was walking in the opposite direction from the one I was walking in. I guess he must have turned around and walked back. When I saw him, I panicked for a minute and at this point in time, Eugene called me to ask me where I was. I told him that I was almost at his place and hung up. I turned around to see whether Dodgy Man was still walking in the opposite direction and he seemed to be so I continued walking. Just before I turned onto Eugene’s street, I turned around and saw a man in a green jacket and cap somewhat in the distance. At this point in time, I was terrified. I think I was shaking. It could have been because i was afraid, or because it was about 12 degrees outside and I was wearing a dress. I then called Eugene and told him that I thought that someone was following me, then he came out to get me.
Crap man that was scary stuff. After that I didn’t see Dodgy Man anymore, but according to Mavis, the area that they stay in has a high incidence of robberies. Not just break-ins. My reaction was, “what the hell..”
ughhh it’s 230. I’ll blog more another time. I just had to pen this down, or rather, type this out. :)
On a completely irrelevant note, I’m starving.
